Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information: the email address and password you provide when you sign up.
• Reading activity: which books you open, your page and bookmark position, and preferences like text size or brightness, so your progress is saved across sessions.
• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, and crash or diagnostic logs, used to keep the app stable.
• Subscription and payment information:Storyscape Plus purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (and Apple, if we launch on iOS). We do not receive or store your card details — the app store processor handles payment, and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat, shares with us only your subscription status and purchase identifiers, so the app can unlock the right content for your account.

2. How illustrations are generated

The scene illustrations you see alongside each page are not generated on your device or in response to your individual reading activity. They’re produced ahead of time, as part of preparing each book for the library: short excerpts of the book’s (public-domain) text are sent from our backend to a third-party AI image-generation provider to produce each illustration, which is then stored and served to all readers of that book. No personal account information, and no data from your device, is involved in this process.

3. Book content and attribution

Book text is sourced from Open Library / the Internet Archive and is limited to works in the public domain. We attribute the source on each book’s detail page. We do not claim ownership of the underlying literary text.

4. How we use information

• To create and maintain your account and reading progress.
• To operate, secure, and improve the app.
• To respond to support requests.
• To communicate service updates (and, if you opt in, product news).
• To manage your Storyscape Plus subscription and billing status.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with the service providers who help us run Storyscape, including hosting, analytics, crash reporting, RevenueCat (for subscription management), and app-store billing processors (Google Play, and Apple if applicable). Each handles data only as needed to provide their service to us. Our AI illustration provider is used only to produce book artwork during content preparation and never receives any user data — see Section 2.

6. Data retention

We retain account and reading data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account through the app removes your data immediately. If you request deletion by email instead, we complete it within 30 days of confirming your identity, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security, or tax purposes. 7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the details below to exercise these rights.

8. Children’s privacy

Storyscape is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We’ll update this page as Storyscape changes, and update the date above when we do.
