Terms of Service

1. The service

Storyscape lets you read public-domain books sourced from Open Library, illustrated with AI-generated scene artwork. Some books in our library are entirely free to read. Others offer a number of free chapters, with the remaining chapters available through Storyscape Plus, our optional monthly subscription described in Section 4.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when you sign up.
• You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
• You must be old enough to consent to these terms in your country to create an account.

3. Content and ownership

• Book text is drawn only from works in the public domain; we don’t claim ownership of it.
• AI-generated illustrations produced by the app are owned by Storyscape. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to view them within the app for your own reading.
• You may not scrape, redistribute, or resell the app’s illustrations or compiled reading experience.

4. Subscriptions

Storyscape offers two ways to read:

• Free: some books in our library are entirely free, in full. On other books, a number of chapters (shown in the app) are free for every reader.
• Storyscape Plus: a monthly subscription, currently $4.99/month (or the equivalent price shown in your app store listing, which may vary by region), that unlocks every chapter of every book in the library.

Billing terms:

• Purchases on Android are billed and processed through Google Play Billing. If Storyscape becomes available on iOS, purchases there will be processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system.
• Storyscape Plus automatically renews each month at the price shown at the time of purchase, until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime through your Google Play (or Apple ID) account subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the current billing period.
• We do not currently offer a free trial for Storyscape Plus — you’re billed starting the day you subscribe.
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play’s and Apple’s own refund policies; Storyscape does not process refunds directly.
• If we change the price of Storyscape Plus, we’ll notify active subscribers before the change takes effect, as required by the applicable app store.
• If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use the “Restore Purchases” option in your Profile to reapply an active subscription to your account.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use Storyscape to violate the law, interfere with the app’s operation, or attempt to access other users’ accounts.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Disclaimers

Storyscape is provided “as is.” AI-generated illustrations are creative interpretations and may not always match a scene precisely. We don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Storyscape is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. We’ll post the updated version here with a new date.
